S.3 Form-based Activity: a Charity Sale

S.3 Form-based Activity: a Charity Sale

To align with the theme of Module 1 Lend a Helping Hand, S.3 students are required to hold a charity sale to raise money for a charitable cause. To facilitate the charity event, S.3 English teachers conducted a Crafts Time session during two English lessons. Each student had to make a Mosaic coaster for the charity sale. While designing their unique patterns, students not only enjoyed the serenity of crafts time, but also contributed to a fundraising event, and ultimately helped the needy in our community.

After completing their artwork, students then needed to participate in a group interaction discussing the details of the charity sale. By creating an authentic discussion topic, we hope our students are more confident in sharing their thoughts and opinions in English. By enriching our students with the experience of volunteering, we hope to cultivate our students as helpful and empathetic community members.
